NELSON

Hey everyone, Nelson here. Thank you for visiting my webpage.

 

To those who don't really know me personally, I'm a singer-songwriter born and bred in Singapore. I started off playing keyboards as a kid but I gradually moved on to guitar, drums and now I'm happy to have found the love of my life, bass. I've been playing bass since I was 21 and what a journey it has taken me on. I'm currently the bass player for 2 local indie bands; Tujuhband & In Each Hand A Cutlass, both of which play really different styles of music. 

 

I've been writing songs for around 20 years but I've only managed to record them sometime in 2008. I'm also quite a perfectionist when it comes to songwriting; it has to sound good, to me at least. I'm constantly on standby with my voice recorder just in case I ever get a spark for a new song and hum it while recording. That's how I've been writing songs all this time; by feel. Sure musical techicalities makes a song more interesting but I want my music to touch the hearts of others, and I hope that someday it will.

 

I'm very easy going by nature and I'm usually very laid back. I guess that makes me very easy to approach and talk to, though I do get people telling me that I'm very '刀' but the truth is I'm really not. I take each day as it comes; not that I don't plan, but I live and enjoy life at that very moment as I won't know what tomorrow may bring. I believe that we should always treasure the now and everything is beautiful in it's time. I also believe that everything happens for a reason; yes, even you reading this.
